Viability Community Living Specialist 1 - ASL in Holyoke, Massachusetts

** $500 sign on bonus ($250 at the completion of first week of training and $250 after successful completion of first 90 days)**

Position: Community Living Specialist 1 - American Sign Language- Full-Time (Lived experience with Deaf culture and fluency in ASL required)**

Location: Holyoke, MA *with regular travel to the Berkshires required (Position is mileage reimbursement eligible)

Rate of Pay: $19.55 per hour; plus a $40 biweekly stipend for second language

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm; occasional evenings and weekends

Summary:

  • The Community Living Specialist 1 provides direct outreach services to individuals that are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and or Late Deafened to enable them to achieve greater independence. Develops and maintains positive working relationships that assist consumers in achieving self-fulfillment through their life goals and desires. Lived experience with Deaf culture required. Candidates with human services, residential care, direct care, day program, and caretaker experience encouraged to apply!

    Qualifications:

  • Must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and have a working knowledge of Deaf culture

  • High School/GED plus 2-3 years related or lived experience OR Associate’s degree plus 1 year related experience and/or training

  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, use of vehicle and willingness to transport participants in personal vehicle

  • Must be able to travel within the region to access residential settings, employers, offices, and community organization
