Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) The Center School - Holyoke, Massachusetts Job ID:4440100 Starting Date:Immediately Job Description The Center School, part of the Positive Regard Network, invites applicants for the position of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) . This position serves our private school locations in Holyoke, MA and Chicopee, MA. Under the supervision of the OT/R, the COTA will perform therapies, record notes of each visit, and follow up with students and classroom staff. Services to be provided include individual and group sessions, assessments and classroom consultations. Position is full time, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Position Responsibilities: - Follows treatment plan developed in collaboration with the OT/R by teaching techniques in the school setting. - Maintains student occupational therapy records by recording student\'s progress for use by the OT/R. - Provides mentoring and training for all staff delivering occupational therapy services in the school. - In conjunction with the OT/R, collaborates with Teachers and other Allied Health staff to provide comprehensive and appropriate services to students. - In conjunction with the OT/R, writes IEP\'s in conjunction with Teachers and attends IEP meetings as required. - Develops, implements and manages occupational therapy curriculum and assessment materials. - Develops treatment protocols and administers occupational therapy assessments, including the use of the school?s swimming pool as a therapeutic environment, to students and prepares corresponding reports, as needed. - Prepares updates and reports for presentation at district team meetings and attends team meetings as requested. - Assists the floor in the mornings with student ADL skills, modeling for staff best practice in supporting students\' OT, ADL and transition goals. - Plans and provides training for school staff as needed or requested. - Adheres to professional licensure standards while upholding the school model of treatment. - Maintains professional licensure and participates in conferences, workshops or other courses for professional development. Holyoke Center School is a Full-Year private day school serving students ages 5-22 with a variety of special needs. Job Requirements Current/valid MA COTA certification and a minimum of an Associate\'s degree in Occupational Therapy required; Bachelor?s degree in Occupational Therapy preferred. **All applicants selected for employment will be subject to CORI, SORI, DCF and SAFIS (Fingerprint) checks** EEO Associate degree preferred.
