Robert Half Admissions Clerk in Holyoke, Massachusetts

Description We are offering an opportunity for an Admissions Representative role in the education industry, specifically at a university in Holyoke, Massachusetts. In this role, you'll be providing key support in the Admissions Office, handling various tasks ranging from data entry to customer service, both in-person and over the phone. You'll be the point of contact for students, staff, and the general public regarding admissions-related matters.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct data entry and data correction of prospective student information, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

• Perform initial recruitment follow-up with students who are missing information.

• Serve as the front-desk representative, assisting visitors and students in person and via phone or email.

• Provide admission forms and general information about the university, guide prospective applicants through the steps to becoming a student, and offer other related enrollment service materials.

• Proctor placement tests as needed.

• Receive, process, and distribute the Admissions office mail.

• Assist in scheduling appointments for admissions counselors.

• Utilize web-based applications and databases proficiently to manage student information.

• Work effectively in a diverse environment, demonstrating critical thinking, relationship building, organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Ellucian Banner or similar student information system is preferred

• Proven skills in data entry with high level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Strong customer service skills with experience in answering inbound calls and managing a multi-line phone system

• Experience in a student affairs setting, ideally within a higher education institution

• Fluent in Spanish language, both written and spoken

• Ability to handle and respond to inquiries effectively and professionally

• Experience in scheduling appointments and managing calendars

• Understanding of admissions processes and procedures in a university environment

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
