Robert Half Accounts Receivable & Inventory Specialist in Haverhill, Massachusetts


Position Overview:

Robert Half seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our clients accounting team, located in Haverhill, MA. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of incoming payments, maintaining customer accounts, and effectively communicating with both internal teams and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and post incoming payments from customers accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are properly accounted for.

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to customer payments, invoices, and billing.

  • Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and follow up with customers to facilitate prompt resolution.

  • Prepare and send regular statements of accounts to customers, detailing outstanding balances and payment instructions.

  • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address customer inquiries and provide information related to invoices and payments.

  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, payment histories, and collection efforts.

  • Generate and analyze accounts receivable reports to track trends, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to strategic decision-making.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of best practices for accounts receivable processes.

  • Prepare and submit accounts receivable aging reports to management on a regular basis.

  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.

  • Support the finance team in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.



  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is a plus.

  • Proven experience (1+ years) in accounts receivable, billing, or related financial roles.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

  • Customer-focused mindset and the ability to maintain positive relationships with clients.

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve disputes and discrepancies tactfully.

  • Experience with ERP systems and other financial software is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
