Answers for Elders Private Duty Home Health Aide in Harwich, Massachusetts

The Home Health Aide is a representative of Answers for Elders and as such must perform all duties in a professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient manner when servicing the client. The HHA will adhere to all HIPPA and Company rules during their work hours. SUPERVISION: The HHA works under the direct or indirect supervision of the AFE Office Manager, but when attending the client will, for that time, work independently with full knowledge of the office manager on dates, hours of attendance and amount of time held in the client environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Works at the behest of the client performing duties including assistance with all daily activities i.e. dressing, bathing, transferring, toileting, grooming, but not limited to, light housekeeping duties, laundry, dishes, medication reminder, meal preparation and travel for errands such as to and from appointments and groceries. Responsible to document all activities accomplished with the client and any changes in clients medical psycho social or cognitive status via Caretree case notes and a call to the office to notify any changes. Responsibilities include following Answers for Elders dress code of wearing the AFE uniform. Will report any issues or concerns including but not limited to, obvious changes in the client demeanor or needs for any medication supply and any other supplies needed. Must have a current driver?s license without restrictions. Must have proper car insurance. Maintains a working knowledge of the general services provided by Answers for Elders, LLC. This is accomplished through the orientation period and the employee handbook. HHA will carry out other assignments required by AFE on days of work. These may change or be added to from time to time. PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical and sensory requirements with or without mechanical device. Walking, driving, bending, reading, writing, grasping, hand coordination, pushing, pulling, reaching, ability to distinguish smells, ability to communicate and ability to remain calm under stressful situations. Periods of stress regarding work day and duties. Fatigue can happen after a client visit and HHA should take a break period before going on to next assignment. If stress is large, the President and Office Manager offers an open-door policy to come to the office and discuss any work, physical or emotional issues derived from the work assignment. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. HHA/CNA certification with experience of 3 years required. Must be willing to work at least 20 hours per week, needed hours to be determined by AFE. Must meet all local health regulations including but not limited to Drug testing. Must submit a copy of proper ID and current driver?s license and insurance. Hiring is subject to interview, either zoom or in office, reference checks and a CORI check. Review by office manager after 90 days. This is 90 days of an orientation period Before becoming a permanent full or part-time employee of AFE. Annual review of performance will be conducted by AFE.
