SAIC is seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Computing Engineer to join the SAIC Cloud One Operations and IL 2-6 team. This candidate will be part of a team responsible for the architecture design/planning, management, support, and oversight of the Cloud One AWS environments. The candidate will be supporting the Cloud One Common Computing Environment (CCE) program under the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center Office for Network Integration (AFLCMC/HNI). Cloud One is an existing global, interconnected, virtualized, hybrid, and IT infrastructure hosting mission systems, applications, services, and data that will serve the U.S. Air Force (USAF). Cloud One incorporates the capabilities of commercial cloud and Managed Service Providers (MSP) residing in Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). Cloud One facilitates the USAF and USA’s efforts to migrate applications to a cloud environment, allowing the closure of data centers to support the Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI) and allowing for increased efficiency across the entire spectrum of the USAF and USA's IT operations.

This is a Hybrid Remote position; all candidates must have access to a SIPRnet facility. Preferred locations are: Hanscom AFB, Montgomery AL, Joint Base Andrews, or Charleston SC or other approved SIPRnet facility.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy services within AWS multi-account environments

• Manage a highly scalable ACAS agent-based environment

• Write reusable IaC templates using languages like Terraform, Packer, Ansible, and CloudFormation (IaC tool)

• Deploy IaC using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and Artifactory

• Maintain and contribute to a very active IaC-centric codebase

• Configure and troubleshoot cloud hardware and software systems

• Proactively identify and resolve operational, tooling and process inefficiencies

• Provide technical assistance and training to users and system administrators

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and three (3) plus years' experience

• Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree

Required Clearance:

• Interim Secret clearance required to start; Ability to obtain a Secret clearance required to maintain employment

• US citizenship required

Required Certification:

• Security + Certification

• AWS Cloud Practitioner or greater

Required Skills:

• In depth understanding of and experience with automated deployments of various systems to AWS. In particular, applicants should be familiar with: EC2, autoscaling groups, s3, RDS, Active Directory, ADFS, SAML-based federation, and load balancing.

• Strong knowledge of DISA ACAS and host-based IPS/IDS/malware detection platforms (such as Trend Micro Deep Security).

• Ability to interact with high level customers and collaborate, design, plan, and implement the proposed solution of project planning.

• Hands on knowledge of DevOps tools/skills such as:

• Terraform

• Ansible

• Docker

Desired Skills:

• SIPR facility access and/or previous SIPR experience

• Previous work using IaC-driven, code-first development and deployment models

• Knowledge of immutable, cloud-centric, high-availability infrastructure deployment patterns

• Previous experience deploying secure systems to the cloud in a highly regulated environment

• Experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe or other modern software development methods/practices
