Franklin County Sheriff's Office Counselor in Greenfield, Massachusetts

GREENFIELD - Counselor GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Counselor is responsible for the overall implementation, assessment, and administration of quality casework services at the Center. S/he will display and encourage the character traits of honesty, respect, caring and responsibility in the fulfillment of his/her job duties. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure that all counseling services are consistent with the operating policies of the Office of Community Corrections (OCC), Franklin County Sheriff\'s Office and other regulatory agencies. Ensure that participant documents such as a copy of all intake materials are placed in participant files including those provided by supervising agencies (e.g., Probation, Parole, and Sheriff\'s Department). Complete intake assessments utilizing assessment tools (e.g. ORAS, LS/RNR, TCUDS, etc.); assess risks/responsivity needs; and develop treatment plans for each assigned participant. Ensure that treatment plans and goals for transition are completed and reviewed monthly. Provide feedback to participants. Make necessary referrals to outside agencies or departments as needed. Case manage community based-services. Complete regular check-ins with participants. Document participant interaction (i.e., client notes) as needed. Assign and track completion of Client Behavioral Interventions (CBI\'s) as needed. Create an after care/discharge plan for each assigned participant. Facilitate CBT manualized groups to fidelity. Submit to/conduct group audits. Utilize technology for programming needs. Keep participant data and information updated in the system. Transport or conduct drug testing on participants upon staffing deficiencies. Participate in all meetings and training as requested by the supervisor(s). Perform other job responsibilities as directed by the supervisor(s). REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor\'s Degree from an accredited college or university. Two (2) years of supervised counseling experience or four (4) years of experience delivering manualized cognitive behavioral treatment. Experience working with high risk populations. Preferred licensed by a professional board of practice in counseling, mental health, social work, or alcohol and drug abuse. Good oral, written, and presentation skills. Strong computer skills. Be available for occasional evening requirements. Be available for occasional travel - required meetings and trainings. Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts driver\'s license. Regular and predictable work attendance. Ability to adapt to varying work situations. Ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to act calmly, make decisions and act quickly in emergency and crisis situations. Ability to interact with people who are under physical and/or emotional stress. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: SHIFT: 37.5hrs/week SALARY RANGE: \$51,030.98 FRINGE BENEFITS: Full fringe benefit entitlements in accordance with State and FCSO Personnel Policies covering this position.
