Rural Recovery Volunteer Coordinator in Great Barrington, Massachusetts
The South County Recovery Center Volunteer Coordinator works in the peer recovery support center and creates conditions for: a safe space for participants, upholding Code of Ethics and trauma-informed values, oversees all aspects of membership including peer mentoring, and leadership development, recruiting and scheduling volunteers to maintain presence at the front desk, current members about their interests, and connects members with volunteer opportunities. In addition, this person manages volunteer and membership processes including orientation, record keeping, and recognition among other tasks. Responsibilities include: - Maintain safe space for SCRC participants, upholding Code of Ethics and trauma-informed values - Oversee all aspects of membership including peer mentoring, and leadership development - Recruit and schedule volunteers to maintain presence at the front desk - Coordinates data collection of new members and biannual surveys as required by the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS), as well as data for other funders - Provide support and guidance to volunteer activities, and organize and support standing committees - Maintain community service records and support projects for fulfilling community service requirements - Coordinate facilitators of All Recovery Meetings - Engage current members about their interests, levels of involvement and connects members with volunteer opportunities. - Manage volunteer and membership processes including orientation, record keeping, and recognition - Support SCRC peer coordinator and interns including supervision and professional development Skills and Qualifications: - Comprehensive understanding of addiction and lived experience in recovery - Knowledge of organization development, community building and strength-based leadership - Excellent leadership skills - Excellent interpersonal skills - Excellent computer skills - Bilingual Spanish/English preferred Experience: - Must have lived experience with substance addiction recovery - People with diverse lived experience and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply - Experience with volunteer coordination - Experience in program planning and coordination Benefits: - Health Insurance: 50%* contribution towards non-individual plan, recalculated annually at time of insurance renewal. company contributes 70%* to the premium costs on individual plans. *Up-to - Berkshire Passport: \$1000.00 Annual benefit to support participation in cultural, wellness, outdoor or fitness activities in the Berkshires. - Health Flex Spending Account \$500.00 Annual benefit that may be matched by staff.
