GILL Groundskeeper Regular Full-Time Mount Hermon, MA, US Requisition ID: 1038 Salary Range: \$17.50 To \$18.00 Hourly Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) seeks a full-time Groundskeeper to maintain the safety and physical appearance of the grounds and athletic facilities including the hockey rink. Other responsibilities include collection and disposal of rubbish, recycling and surplus materials for the school, and other duties as assigned. This position will also provide support to additional departments as needed. A Day in the Life: The groundskeeper plays a vital role in maintaining the campus grounds, performing essential tasks such as pruning, planting, and trimming to ensure the landscape remains well-kept. They are responsible for mowing lawns and weeding flower beds, while also fertilizing and watering plants to promote healthy growth. On call 24 hours for snow removal and other emergencies, they are always prepared to respond when needed, ensuring safety during winter months. Additionally, they assist in operating and maintaining the NMH Hockey Rink, ensuring all equipment is in top condition. This person also handles the removal and proper disposal of rubbish and recyclable materials, keeping the campus clean and organized. Collaborating with outside contractors and supporting various departments within the Physical Plant, they help set up events and address any logistical needs that arise. Required Skills and Qualifications: Be able to learn and perform a variety of changing duties as required by job assignments. Verbal ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with co-workers and the NMH community. Display necessary initiative and dependability to work alone or in groups. Must be able to drive a DOT NMH vehicle. Ability and willingness to be a team player. Ability to acquire hoisting license within 6 months of hire. Must maintain a valid drivers license. Basic knowledge of snow removal and related equipment. This position requires occasional lifting and transporting of 100+ pounds. Repetitive pushing and/or pulling, twisting, bending, and squatting, stooping, and kneeling. Preferred Qualifications: Pesticide Applicators license preferred. This is an in-person position.
