Community Health Connections (CHC) is a multi-site, non-profit health care center offering urgent care, primary family medical and pediatric care, preventative and restorative dental care, oral surgery, behavioral health services for children and adults, and substance use disorder treatment, and specialty services including optometry eye care, optical shop, acupuncture, nutrition consultations and podiatry. CHC is mission-driven, providing compassionate, quality health care regardless of income or health insurance status. CHC has five sites within Fitchburg, Gardner and Leominster with decades of experience as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), serving 36 communities in North Central Massachusetts.
The Radiologic Technologist performs digital X-ray studies on patients per the orders placed by providers. The X-Ray Technician is a multi-skilled clinical professional who works within the scope of practice to assist in patient care, helps patients and providers to manage the flow of the clinic under the direction of the Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing, and provider.
This is a temporary position.
Responsibilities include:
Safely performs provider ordered radiographic examinations, including but not limited to proper patient positioning, immobilization, and utilizing appropriate radiation protection.
Sets up and adjusts supportive and immobilization equipment and devices as required by individual cases. Positions and handles patients with a high degree of safety and professionalism.
Accurately documents patient encounters within Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Determines and selects proper electronic and technical factors which safeguard the patient, x-ray tube, and equipment.
Maintains clinical and administrative skills to meet patient care and daily operational needs. Travel to other or adjusting work hours to meet patient care needs as directed by the manager may also be required.
Directs and practices sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination of disease.
Reports immediately any malfunction, necessary adjustments, or repairs of equipment to supervisor.
Other duties include but not limited to ordering supplies, lab, and diagnostic tests, disposes of contaminated supplies.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required, associate degree or equivalent preferred.
Completion of an approved X-Ray Technician certification program is required. Registered with the American Registry of Radiographic Technicians (ARRT), or eligible Licensure/Certification preferred.
Medical Assisting experience a plus
Bilingual in Spanish/English or Portuguese/English, preferred.
Experience working in a fast-paced medical office environment, preferred.
Computer skills for accurate data entry
Knowledge of basic medical terminology and the ability to use standard office equipment.
AHA BLS Health Care Provider certification or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced office environment, interpersonal relationship skills, written and verbal communication skills in English.
