Mack Prototype, Inc. Manufacturing Technician in Gardner, Massachusetts

Mack Prototype is a leading custom rapid prototyping and low volume manufacturing company in Gardner, MA with 3D printing, Cast Urethane Molding, Injection Molding, CNC Machining and Finish/Paint/Assembly services. The manufacturing technician is responsible for supporting part and project requirements in all service areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Assembly of mechanical and electro-mechanical parts including cables, metal parts, plastic parts, hardware and electronics; Program, setup and operate 3D printing equipment including any post-processing required; Operate manufacturing equipment including 3D printing, injection molding and CNC machining equipment as needed; Execute any secondary operation required including finishing, drilling, sanding, inserting, laser marking, degating, trimming, and any other items as required; Gather required materials and assemble including mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies per work instructions and print information; Manage inventory for work cell and work stations as needed for production line workflow; Execute any quality checks and/or product testing as specified for assemblies; Assist in the development of production line, work instructions and training personnel; Ensures all equipment needed to manufacture is available, installed and qualified and if procurement is required, provides specifications; Assist in defining line labor, packaging and material supply requirements, as well as manufacturing lead times; Assist in planning manufacturing space and utility requirements for projects; Ensures all ISO procedures are followed within the work cell/production line; Seeks continuous improvements to optimize manufacturing operations by identifying opportunities to achieve gains in quality and productivity; Provides recommendations/input with the design, building and implementation of new fixtures and tooling to support manufacturing operations; Maintain a preventative maintenance program as required; Performs all assigned activity in a timely manner; Works with co-workers and customers in a safe, professional, and cooperative manner; Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. One to two years related experience in engineering and/or manufacturing; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience in engineering and/or manufacturing field preferred Passionate Team Player willing to help team reach goals Highly organized and detail oriented Strong analytical and problem solving skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data sheets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute ratio and percent, and understand units of measurement (length, volume and weight.) Preferred experience with 3D Printing, Injection Molding, CNC Machining, Assembly, CAD/CAM software, 3D CAD Models, 2D Drawings, and Microsoft Office.
