How will you make an impact?

Operates as strategic sourcing specialist within the procurement team and across a regional network of manufacturing sites to ensure successful sourcing strategies delivery. In conjunction with relevant business partners, identifies, designs, and implements novel sourcing solutions for Procurement.

What will you do?

Responsibilities

  • Serve as strategic sourcing leader for the Franklin, MA site, leading strategic sourcing initiatives to improve supplier performance, drive process improvements, reduce costs and develop supplier relationships.

  • Work in close alignment with local site Purchasing, Operations, and Thermo Fisher Category Management Teams covering all Direct Material Categories.

  • Negotiate pricing, MOQ, lot sizes, and favorable payment terms with suppliers as assigned.

  • Find innovative solutions to deliver cost efficiencies to create enhanced value by hosting or facilitating idea generation workshops and builds a pipeline of savings above financial targets.

  • Support the development, planning, and implementation of sourcing strategies within the respective spend area that delivers best value, price, compliance, and efficiencies.

  • Create bid packages and perform bid analysis, reviewing findings and recommendations with Purchasing, Category Management Teams, and key stakeholders.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Coordinates global, cross-functional, geographically distributed teams to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Coordinates with team members to identify and document resource constraints.

  • Works with key partners to achieve key deliverables on time and within plan, develop relationships within the company to complete assigned projects.

  • Integrates diverse views while participating in targeted content deep dive sessions to enable problem solving.

  • Collaborates with Procurement Enablement on reporting cadences to achieve a single source of truth for the savings pipeline and inflation.

  • Represents Procurement in NPI projects and coordinates sourcing related activities with cross-functional site team as well as with Category Managers.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelors and/or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or Engineering.

  • Certification in Purchasing/Procurement is desirable.

Experience

  • 8+ years of procurement/sourcing/supply chain management experience, preferably in High Tech Systems environment with high diversity mix and low volumes.

  • Experience working within the Electrical, Mechanical, and OEM Commodities preferred.

  • Experience working in a complex and constantly evolving environment.

  • Training in specialized Purchasing skills such as SAP and Ariba preferred Process improvement background (PPI, Lean, Six Sigma, etc) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent negotiations skills with the ability to negotiate High-mix/Low-volume, single/sole source spend independently.

  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to efficiently organize forums and coordinate communication with team members.

  • Excellent communication skills for structuring ideas in a clear and concise manner.

  • Strong ability to effectively communicate with and present to Senior Leadership.

  • Strong proficiency in MS-Office tools (specifically, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Demonstrated ability to make recommendations on and deliver assigned projects.

  • Can work independently, within a team, and collaboratively across teams.

  • Ability to lead project teams of peers and other partners and navigate within a matrix environment.

  • Ability to collaborate across multiple sites and platforms in a virtual office environment.

  • Solid Financial competence.

  • Multi-tasking skills and planning for prioritizing personal workload.

  • Able to manage change effectively and frequently.

  • Ability to travel between 5%-15% on an annual basis.
