What you will do

The Applications Manager will lead a team of Applications Engineers, coordinate applications development projects, and provide applications analysis for the FTIR and MS product line within Thermo Fisher's Environmental and Process Monitoring business unit. A successful candidate will evaluate gas analysis applications to broaden the scope of FTIR and MS capabilities, enhance commercial effectiveness, and support customer-facing marketing activities. As a crucial member of the product marketing team, the Applications Manager enables our customers to reduce emissions, make process decisions faster, improve product quality and protect the health of their employees!

  • Identify likely areas of emerging applications and propose applications solutions to Product Management

  • Work with R&D and the Product Manager to define applications requirements for new products

  • Team with sales professionals to cultivate new or target accounts, departments, key influencers according to sales plans.

  • Lead a team of Applications Engineers, prioritizing applications development projects and mentoring junior colleagues

  • Support the Senior Product Manager in defining the portfolio applications strategy

How you will get here

Education/Experience

Bachelors Degree in Chemistry (or similar) and 10+ years of experience. Masters Degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proficiency in process FTIR and Mass Spectrometry is required

  • Experience with gas analysis is required

  • Able to handle multi-tasking, deliveries, and timelines

  • Excellent organization skill, detail oriented

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $104,000.00–$140,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
