This is a key role responsible for executing a comprehensive data strategy to drive business objectives. This role involves partnering with key business stakeholders and all data teams including AI/ML, Analytics, Data Engineering and Data Platform, plus other key partners like Application Engineering to ensure the organization leverages data effectively to make informed decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Streamline and optimize data-related processes and workflows for efficiency.

  • Define key performance indicators (KPI’s) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of the data strategy.

  • Collaborate with executives, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and strategic objectives. 

  • Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management and analytics, and identify opportunities to leverage new technologies including Data Science, AI, ML, and Generative AI to enhance the organization’s data capabilities.

  • Spend significant time with customers, homing in on successful patterns and trends to drive new product design and development.

  • Partner closely with engineers and scientists to build models, APIs, services, and complex systems at scale.

  • Sprint Planning: Partner with science and engineering teams to assist with sprint planning and backlog curation

  • Business Line Partnering: Serve as the primary liaison to business stakeholders, acting as their voice to the science and engineering teams

  • Translate business requirements into action roadmaps and plans on which the science and engineering teams will execute

  • Design and lead technical delivery of analytical products consumed internally by the business including self-service analytics, ad-hoc analytics, internal algorithms, and self-service event instrumentation

What You Bring to the Table:

Solid understanding and experience of data functions and business operations in the following areas, Data Analytics & Insights, Application and deployment of AI ML products, Operational Excellence, Performance Metrics & KPI’s, Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field.

  • 10 or more years in leading analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives, with a track record of successful project delivery.

  • Proven experience in a leadership role focused on data strategy, AI, and ML practices.

  • Hands on experience in developing and leading large data and data science organizations across multiple business domains.

  • In-depth knowledge of data governance, analytics frameworks, and emerging technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams.

  • Exceptional strategic planning and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field.

  • Previous retail and eCommerce industry experience is a plus.
