Staples Sr. Analyst Marketing Analytics in Framingham, Massachusetts

Our team is diverse, with skillsets and responsibilities ranging from graphic design, content creation and performance marketing to internal communications and loyalty & rewards programs. We work together to provide expertise and guidance, so that the Staples brand is well represented in all areas.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide timely insights and analytical support to internal business stakeholders (including segment marketing, marketing operations, merchandising, sales, etc.) to drive marketing effectiveness.

  • Define testing strategies across marketing vehicles and develop roadmap in alignment with overall corporate and financial objectives.

  • Measure incremental sales and margin through improved testing and reporting.

  • Build trusted relationships and partnerships with Marketing, Operations and Sales teams

  • Define testing & learning objectives with business partners to build A/B Test designs and develop solutions for data/reporting needs including pre-test analysis and synthesizing the results/recommendations.

  • Oversee development of analytical insight by creating and implementing experimental designs and measurement plans to optimize marketing strategies.

  • Provide analytical-based recommendations that drive our organization's success. Gather and analyze data, consistently offer insights that guide our strategic decisions and business growth.

  • Develop and implement improvements to the analytics and reporting process, including data acquisition, data preparation, measurement methodologies, and reporting.

  • Create data-driven analyses and data visualizations utilizing tools such as SQL, Python, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, and other relevant software to effectively convey meaningful insights.

  • Demonstrate the capability to simplify intricate measurement concepts and analytical outcomes by employing visualization and storytelling techniques for clear and effective communication.

What you bring to the table:

  • Proficient with relational databases and big data structure. Ability to identify and diagnose data inconsistencies and errors, to reconcile data from multiple sources.

  • Able to balance multiple analytical projects, partners, and timelines, to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate to the senior executive level.

  • Familiar with sales operations, email, and direct mail marketing operations.

  • Strong understanding of data driven marketing, campaign analysis and customer analytics.

  • Strong problem structuring/solving skills – including data structuring, quantitative reasoning, and mathematical analysis to examine and interpret data.

  • Experience presenting analytical findings to audiences at all levels.

  • Ability to concisely explain complex analytical finding to non-analytic peers.

  • Experience working across multiple teams in an organization to achieve a joint goal.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of marketing analytics experience, preferably involving email and digital channels.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience of data analysis, using quantitative analytics tool (SQL, Python etc.)

  • Skilled with data visualization tool (Tableau) or similar.

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly proficient use of SQL, Python, Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint for data extraction, manipulation, and communication.

  • Extensive hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge with experimental design and statistical testing.

  • Proficient with relational databases and big data structure. Ability to identify and diagnose data inconsistencies and errors, to reconcile data from multiple sources.
