South Middlesex Opportunity Council Contract Billing Specialist in Framingham, Massachusetts

SUMMARY

Billing Specialist is a business partner to the Division Analyst and is responsible for all the monthly billing to the Agency’s State and Federal funders. This will include, but not be limited to: Grant & Contract invoicing, A/R booking and A/R follow up.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a business partner to the Division Analyst assisting them in preparing the monthly bills for their related programs.

  • Develop and submit monthly/quarterly/annual billing reports for local, state and federal funding sources to include salary schedules, payment vouchers and statistics and progress reports.

  • Reconcile Accounts Receivable on a monthly basis. Monitor and keep up to date on status of aged receivables.

  • Work closely with the Division Analyst on any issues you see during billing.

  • Participate in agency and funding authority audits and contract monitoring. Prepare schedules as needed (contract, donations, accounts receivable) and gather any AP invoices.

  • Maintain confidentiality of client, employee and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with program/department, agency and/or funder requirements, as well as, SMOC policies & procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree in Accounting or related finance field

  • 2+ years of related grant accounting experience preferably within a non-profit organization

  • Must possess strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

  • Directly reports to Director of Grants and Contracts.

WORKING CONDITIONS

As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Director of Grants and Contracts will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. A successful background check is required.
