South Middlesex Opportunity Council Clinicians - SBH Outpatient in Framingham, Massachusetts

SUMMARY

Complete diagnostic evaluations and provide the necessary direct and indirect services to enable consumers to reach and maintain their maximum level of functioning in the community with the goal of symptom reduction and averting (repeated) hospitalization, detoxification or imprisonment.

  • PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete assigned diagnostic assessments.

  • Provide outpatient treatment and case management services as appropriate, utilizing a range of treatment modalities (e.g. individual, family, group etc.) and psycho-educational interventions.

  • Provide direct counseling services, outreach and crisis intervention services to at-risk and difficult to engage clients.

  • Participate as a member of the Multidisciplinary Treatment Team.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources and service providers and shares this information with members of the Treatment Team and is able to access these resources on behalf of clients.

  • Collaborate and network with DMH, PES, area hospitals, courts and other community-service providers on behalf of clients.

  • Adhere to the program's Policy and Procedure Manual.

  • Maintain appropriate clinical documentation.

  • Maintain current professional license and malpractice insurance if required.

  • Engage all clients by understanding and addressing their needs whether within or outside the scope of the specialty.

  • Attend & participate in engagement team meetings, follow up with client service plans and communicate effectively with clients and staff in other specialty areas.

  • Ensure compliance with program/department, agency and/or funder requirements, as well as, SMOC policies & procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's or advanced graduate degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or related disciplines required

  • Licensed in Massachusetts to provide mental health services

  • Minimum three years experience working with adults with major mental illness.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

  • Directly reports to Clinical Director.

  • Direct reports of this position are none.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Hours and rates vary depending on service provided and client base. As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Outpatient Clinician will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
