Staples Associate Manager, Strategic Sourcing in Framingham, Massachusetts

What you’ll be doing:
Collaborate with stakeholders within the Marketing, HR and Finance teams to understand and help achieve their business strategies and objectives.
Execute on sourcing strategies defined by Sourcing leadership that result in enhanced value, revenue, total-cost reduction, continuous improvement and achieving savings targets.
Facilitate supplier selection, contract negotiation, and contracting process for suppliers, liaising with Staples Legal team on contract creation and execution.
Facilitate low dollar value contract negotiations including new contracts, contract renewals, and contract extensions.
Develop and execute small sourcing events including RFIs, RFPs, and competitive bids.
Collaborate with stakeholders to manage the procure-to-pay process.
Act as liaison between Staples Legal team, Staples Risk team, and Staples Cyber Security team with suppliers and business partners.
Support procurement operations as needed, vendor setup, NDA’s contracts, etc.
Project management – drive the procurement goals by designing, implementing, and managing projects to a successful conclusion.
RFP management – perform end-to-end RFP process from creation to award, to drive value and achieve business goals (including supplier/industry research, deliverable definition, baseline/budget definition, RFP creation, supplier meetings, bid analysis, score card creation, negotiation). Understand total value versus cost, stakeholder requirements, suppliers base, overall industry knowledge and supplier selection.

Financial Acumen and Analytical Skills
Proficient in Procurement systems – able to work in Coupa/ePAS and/or other procure to pay systems.
Proficient in understanding of the contract process, structure, key terms, and conditions, related legal issues and common supplier concerns used in negotiation.
Knowledge of the role of the contract in Staples relationships with suppliers.
Novice in understanding the industry and suppliers in one's category to drive value, efficiency and capitalize on industry trends and innovations.

What’s needed - Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
3+ years of Procurement and Sourcing or related experience
All Staples Associates are expected to be onsite in the Staples Office 3 days per week
What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a relevant field.
Professional certifications such as CPSM or CSCP.
Experience in a multinational business environment.
Proficiency in sourcing and procurement software.
