Ameresco Accounts Receivable Analyst in Framingham, Massachusetts

Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Senior Accounting Manager, the AR Analyst posts cash received, performs analysis, and reconciles customer accounts. The AR Analyst is responsible for timely, accurate, and complete reconciliation of customer accounts, including handling transactions for multiple companies and bank accounts. The AR Analyst is also responsible for weekly reporting including preparing and distributing the AR Aging by customer and business unit as well as supporting the bad debt analysis on a quarterly basis. In addition, the AR Analyst provides superior customer service to both internal and external customers. This is a hybrid opportunity based out of our Framingham, MA office.

Responsibilities:

  • Post Cash, including miscellaneous receipts and customer payments within the MS D365 Accounts Receivable module.

  • Perform detailed analyses of customer accounts and payment application.

  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to recognize and resolve issues with customer accounts, invoices, and payments.

  • Monitor Aging and other reports to identify and drive efforts to reduce late payments and work with project accountants and project managers to resolve issues.

  • Generate and distribute weekly AR Aging by customer and business unit. Collect feedback and report out on >90 balances on a quarterly basis.

  • Assist with quarterly bad debt analysis and explanations.

  • Support reconciliation of the AR Aging to the General Ledger Trail Balance on a monthly basis.

  • Prepare and process check deposits to all the banks.

  • Contact customers to collect outstanding balances for assigned business unit(s).

  • Respond to CashPro exceptions.

  • Process credit card payment transactions and refunds to customers.

  • Participate in testing efforts, reporting defects, and working with IT to resolve issues.

  • Cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers; deliver superior customer service by responding timely and accurately to customer inquiries related to billing and cash posting.

  • Handle Federal and State wire payments using webtools.

  • Foster a positive environment with open communication.

  • Provide training to new team members.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Working knowledge of accounting and financial concepts. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; especially excel.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
