General Electric Sr Director Product Management - Automation Software in Foxborough, Massachusetts

Job Description Summary

As the Sr. Director Product Management for Automation Software, you will lead a team of Product Managers and Technical Product Managers and be responsible for driving the strategy of GE Digital's Automation software portfolio. Responsibilities include collecting customer feedback, identifying product and market gaps, setting the roadmap, pricing and driving the timing and quality of delivery. You will need to utilize Lean Management techniques to measure and manage KPIs, troubleshoot variance, evaluate capital allocation and ensure profitability. Utilizing this information, you will create new differentiated offerings that enhance the customer's user experience and create competitive advantage for the business.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the P&L of Automation software

  • Leverages Lean Product Management methodologies and is a strong coach for a team of product managers and technical product managers

  • Responsible for driving the Automation software strategy

  • Oversees a team using agile techniques to define backlogs for sprints and releases.

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure the customer experience is optimized across product, services and support.

  • Ability to analyze customer, sales and market data to create segmentation for sales targeting

  • Ability to execute competitive analysis

  • Interacts with customers/stakeholders in requirements-gathering, fine tuning, and obtaining product feedback.

  • Ability to gain insights from customer feedback

  • Defines target user and buyer personas and use those personas to refine solution

  • Ability to prioritize information for decision making and make decisions based on imperfect data

  • Leverages technical experience and analytical thinking from multiple internal and external sources to arrive at decisions.

  • Works with cross-functional teams to deliver features and major, complex products.

  • Demonstrates expert persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between customer, product managers and engineering teams.

  • Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs.

  • Demonstrates strategic expert level skills in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED)

  • At least 5 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
