The Arc of Opportunity Senior Division Director of Residential Supports in Fitchburg, Massachusetts

The Senior Director of Residential Supports provides oversight and administrative leadership for the organization’s residential programs. This role is responsible for ensuring that all residential programs operate efficiently and meet high-quality standards. Directly supervises the Division Directors of Residential Supports and a small group of residential managers. Manages program implementation in alignment with The Arc's mission, values, strategic plan, and regulatory requirements. This position is pivotal in coordinating services, upholding organizational fundamentals, and driving priority initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and impact of residential supports.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the management of basic and intermediate care residential homes.

  • Supervise Residential Managers and work with Nursing and Quality Assurance teams to maintain all licensing requirements.

  • Provide ongoing oversight to electronic medical records and web-based program records.

  • Timely and accurate coding for services into electronic medical records system for billing purposes.

  • Manage and participate in a 24 hour/365 day On-Call system.

  • Manage ISP process for all individuals served.

  • Oversee all medication administration and compliance.

  • Performance to budget and annual budget development.

  • Maintain excellent relationships with all guardians, family members and individuals.

  • Manage OQE compliance.

  • Ensure a functional, healthy, and person-centered environment at programs sites.

  • Maintain excellent relationships with funding agencies.

  • Recruit, retain, and evaluate qualified staff.

  • Ensure operational and service standard compliance with all federal, state and agency policies within assigned residential programs.

  • Provide input and assist in determining intake, transfer and discharge decisions regarding individuals utilizing programs/services.

  • Acts as primary leadership mentor and provides residential staff with necessary developmental training support and ensures mandatory training compliance for all staff.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience providing residential support services or a related role of which five must be in a multi program, supervisory role

  • Master Degree in relevant field and a minimum of two years in a senior leadership position in Human Services. OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and a minimum of five years’ experience providing residential support services of which three must be in a multi program, supervisory role.

  • A valid Driver’s license and acceptable CORI/SORI/Fingerprinting results are required.

  • Strong understanding of budget management, financial oversight, and performance monitoring.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including staff, regulatory bodies, and community organizations.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex and sensitive issues effectively.

  • Maintain relevant certifications in CPR & FA, MAP, and CPI.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to work 45-55 hours per week on average.

  • Ability to exert light to moderate physical effort which may involve lifting up to 25 pounds, pushing and/or pulling objects of similar weight.
