About the Role:

As a Peer Educator at Youth Innovation, you will play a crucial role in promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment for students. You will be responsible for facilitating workshops and activities that promote academic success, personal growth, and social development. Your main objective will be to empower students to become leaders in their communities and achieve their full potential.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience working with youth in an educational or community setting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with diverse student populations

  • Experience with program development and evaluation

  • Experience with restorative justice practices

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate workshops and activities that promote academic success, personal growth, and social development

  • Provide mentorship and support to students in a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to develop and implement effective programming

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and program outcomes

  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Skills:

As a Peer Educator, you will utilize your strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and create a safe and inclusive learning environment. You will also use your creativity and problem-solving skills to develop engaging and effective programming that meets the needs of diverse student populations. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills in program development and evaluation, as well as restorative justice practices, through ongoing professional development opportunities.
