Steamship Authority Security Guard - Falmouth in Falmouth, Massachusetts

Security Guard - Falmouth Parking Lots The Steamship Authority is currently accepting applications to fill an opening for a Security Guard at the Falmouth Parking Lots. Duties include providing security for customers, terminal, vessels, parking lots, and employees; protecting the assets of Steamship Authority buildings and property, and customer property, including maintenance and hazardous material storage areas. The starting pay for Security Guards is \$18.83 per hour. RESPONSIBILITIES: Patrol Steamship Authority grounds to protect against fire, theft, illegal entry, infractions of safety regulations and other irregularities. Ensure the security and safety of Steamship Authority properties, employees, equipment, as well as all physical aspects of the properties including parking lots and motor vehicles. Maintain records and prepare incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities accurately and completely. Investigate disturbances and in the event of an emergency, maintain order and safety to protect property. Respond to emergency situations such as accidents, injuries, and safety hazards. Provide appropriate level of assistance and summon authorities. Security and unlock facilities. Secure lost valuables. Maintain required records, reports, and files as required. Maintain department equipment and supplies. Attend training programs. Practice company expectations, customer service approaches, and all administrative policies and procedures. Maintain compliance with Facility and Vessel Security Plans and Operations Manuals. Demonstrate basic computer ability and appropriate interpersonal skills. Respond appropriately to crisis situations. Perform other work-related duties as requested/directed. REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. High School education or GED. 1-year prior experience in a Security related position. Must have good writing and verbal skills and ability to produce concise, accurate, and well written reports. Ability to act in a courteous and professional manner. Possession of a valid driver\'s license.
