Atlantis Charter School Temporary Special Ed Records Clerk - 24 Hours Per Week in Fall River, Massachusetts

We are currently looking for a Special Education Records Clerk to temporarily join our team. The position is temporary to cover a leave of absence available now through an at least the end of December, 2024. The hours are flexible and would be a total of 24 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have experience with the IEP process, working within tight deadlines, and coordinating calendars with multiple parties. Associate’s degree or advanced education in related field preferred. 1-2 years working in a related position or any combination of related education, training and experience, which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job. Experience working in a school office environment preferred. Proficient in using Microsoft Office software programs. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines. Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment. Ability to perform basic math computations. Strong communication skills, both written and spoken. Ability to relate well to others REPORTS TO: K-12 District Leader SUPERVISION: None ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: While actual roles and responsibilities will vary depending on individual circumstances, Special Education Records Clerk will generally be required to perform some or all of the following tasks. Note that this list in not all-inclusive and that the administrator may also assign other tasks he/she deems appropriate. Works closely and effectively with parents, faculty, outside agencies, other school districts or students with regard to special education records. Familiar with and follows specific laws, state regulations and district procedures relevant to special education records. Copies, distributes, and mails special education forms needed for IEP team meetings and ensures all pertinent information in the IEP process is completed. Coordinates and schedules parents and staff for IEP team meetings within required timeframes. Coordinates IEP meeting calendar for distribution on a regular basis. Receives, sorts and files correspondence, reports and other material. Ensures accuracy in gathering data for record keeping including DESE SIMS reports, Medicaid reporting, etc Answers incoming phone calls and demonstrates appropriate telephone etiquette. Performs assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner. Maintains electronic and paper record keeping system and filing system of student records and ensures records are complete and organized. Oversees inventory process for teachers who sign technology out for their students. Demonstrates proficiency and effective use of computer, fax, calculator or any other office machines needed to carry out work. Takes responsibility and accountability for assigned tasks, projects, and duties while maintaining a professional manner. Makes efficient use of time by organizing and prioritizing work efficiently. Presents a professional appearance by adhering to ACS dress code. Is actively engaged in job/career growth by attending inservice programs, professional development, educational courses and seminars. Actively listens and responds in a respectful non-confrontational manner to the opinions of others. Fosters positive attitude in the workplace. Maintains and respects strict confidentiality of any sensitive information related to Atlantis Charter School, its faculty, staff and students. " />
