State of Massachusetts Mental Health Worker II in Fall River, Massachusetts

The Southeast Area, Fall River Adult Community Clinical Services program is seeking a talented individual who can fill the role of Mental Health Worker II on our night shift in one of our Group Living Environments (GLE). The candidate will provide rehabilitative services to Persons with major mental illness in GLE setting as well as develop a professional relationship with Persons Served and maintain a trauma informed, person centered approach. Participates in the development and implements the Community Service Plan. Complete appropriate documentation of interventions and communication of pertinent information. Knowledge of DMH regulations and program procedures, knowledge and implementation of MAP policies and performs related work, as required. _Please Note:_ This position is 40 hours per week. The candidate will work on the night shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.The days off areFriday and Saturday. Employees in this position will be required to work mandatory overtime. _ Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_ * Assist in the development and implementation of person served Community Service Plans through direct observation of the person served, full knowledge of the person served history, and engagement with the person served. * Works as primary advocate by providing direct one to one contact with assigned person served to assist them in all areas and to aid them in the implementation of their Community Service Plan. * Appropriate record keeping ensuring documentation in the EMR and paper record of person served progress and to ensure compliance with existing DMH regulations and program procedures. * Adheres to all MAP policies and procedures to ensure that medication is administered safely to Persons Served. * Knowledge of all DMH regulations and program procedures by reading the Program and Agency manuals and receiving supervision by program manager or designee. * Assist Persons served in development of independent living skills. * Engage persons, individually and/or in group, in the development of meaningful activities to foster an improved quality of life. * Promote emotional growth and mental stability by assisting with use of WRAP, Safety and Crisis Plans to promote independence in managing crises. Arrange for Crisis Intervention, after consultation with supervisor. * Conduct file drills as necessary and to document the information according to DMH regulations and program procedures. * Responsible for functional supervision of lower-level staff, as needed, and may act as shift Supervisor based on operational need. _Preferred Qualifications:_ * CPR and First Aid Certification * Bilingual or multilingual * Experience in the Human Service field and specifically with individuals with mental illness or other disabilities. _Special Requirements:_ * In accordance with an agreement between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Mental Health and AFSCME/Council 93, employees assigned to a work unit where the Medication Administration Program (MAP) is used are required to pass MAP certification within 6 months of entering the position or 3 examination opportunities, whichever comes first. Employees are required to maintain MAP certification as long as you are working in said program. * Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Driver's License or equivalent required for this position. _Working Conditions:_ * While performing the duties of this position, incumbents work under stressful situations and under time pressures. * Applicants may be exposed to verbal and/or physical confrontations and potentially dangerous environments. * Incumbents will work weekends and holidays and may work extended hours. * Mandatory Overtime may be required. _DMH Mission Statement: _ The Dr. John C.
