Atlantis Charter School Full Time Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in Fall River, Massachusetts

Human Resources, Atlantis Charter School The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will provide consultative and evaluative services for diagnostic, preventative and intervention purposes. The BCBA conducts descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments, including functional assessments, and provides behavior analytic interpretations of the result. The BCBA teaches others to carry out ethical and effective behavior analytic interventions based on published research and designs and delivers instruction in behavior analysis. TITLE: Board Certified Behavior Analyst QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Education in job related area, Master’s Degree preferred Valid certification as a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) OR Valid license as a LABA (Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst) from Massachusetts Allied Mental Health Division of Professional Licensure. 3-4 years of previous experience working in a related position is preferred. Strong communication skills, both written and spoken. Ability to multitask and prioritize work. Ability to relate well to others. Ability to work independently REPORTS TO: Special Education Director SUPERVISION: RBT (If Applicable) ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: While actual roles and responsibilities will vary depending on individual circumstances, the BCBA will generally be required to perform some or all of the following tasks. Note that this list is not all-inclusive and that the supervisor may also assign other tasks they deem appropriate. Conducts behavioral assessments (e.g., FBAs) as needed to identify the function of challenging behaviors, develop/modify behavior support plans (BSP)/ Behavior Intervention plans (BIPS) plans, and monitor implementation Collects and reviews treatment fidelity data to ensure consistent application of interventions. May attend IEP, 504 or Student Support meetings as needed. Provide training and resources for teachers and support staff in the use of basic ABA principles including assessment, instruction, curriculum modifications, environmental modifications and the development of social skills, all aimed at improving the total educational experience for students with social thinking and behavioral regulation difficulties. Consult with classroom teachers to develop classroom-wide management systems. Observe target students in a variety of settings for purposes of both data collection and to provide consultation to educational team members, regarding curriculum, instruction and behavior programs. Provide consultation/training/supervision to appropriate staff in the implementation of ABA methodology, behavior intervention strategies, and data collection and analysis which can be reviewed regularly by educators for purposes of documenting progress and informing instruction. Develop data collection systems for individuals and classrooms, providing training to teachers/teaching assistants for implementation of data systems and graph, monitor and analyze data that is collected. Assists in the development of behavioral intervention plans, materials, behavioral objectives, data collection procedures, and monitor data collection Provide direct service or consult when a student has behavior specialist support on their IEP Remain up to date with Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification/procedures Collaborate with School Psychologists, Special Education staff and Outside consultants to ensure students’ behavioral and social needs are appropriately addressed within the school setting and assist with writing IEP goals and progress reports to document progress towards relevant goals and objectives. Provide training and consultation to parents around implementation of ABA strategies, behavior support plans and behavioral strategies Additional Requirements Performs other duties as assigned; Cultural Standards Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with all members of school community to carry out responsibilities; Interacts professionally with a diverse range of constituents; Maintains an attendance record that meets or exceeds an acceptable standard as defined by ACS policy. Presents an appearance that is clean, neat and appropriate to the job. Attends Atlantis Charter School required inservice programs and professional development. Actively listens and responds in a respectful non-confrontational manner to the opinions of others. Fosters positive attitude in the workplace. Maintains and respects strict confidentiality of any sensitive information related to Atlantis Charter School, its faculty, staff and students. EVALUATION An annual performance evaluation of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst will be conducted by the Special Education Director or their designee. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT 10-month position. Salary as negotiated per contract. WORK ENVIRONMENT Ability to walk, sit and stand for long periods. Regularly uses computer keyboard, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity. " />
