Early College programs are intentionally designed to empower students traditionally underrepresented in higher education. MA Early College Designated Programs work to blend elements of high school and college to provide students with the opportunity to experience and complete college level academic coursework on a clearly articulated pathway and simultaneously gain exposure to a variety of career opportunities. Early college programs also reduce the time and expense of earning a college credential while increasing the likelihood of completion. The Contracted Early CollegeProgram Managerwill work under the direction of the Executive Director of Early College and in partnership with the Early College team to support the development of policy and the designation application process. The Contracted Early College Program Manager will work closely with the Executive Office of Education (EOE), the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and the Department of Higher Education (DHE) to support, organize and manage the development of policy and the designation application process. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. Support the Office of Early College team by facilitating and creating deliverables for Early College policy-related planning meetings. a. Actively facilitate/participate in standing Early College Meetings to support policy development by creating deliverables for meetings. b. Work with assigned group leaders to coordinate scheduling and logistics and support agenda and content for standing Early College working group meetings. c. Prepareworking drafts of policy recommendations incorporating feedback from multiple constituents. 2. Support the Office of Early College at DESE to manage the designation application process. a. Provide information and guidance to Early College programs seeking Designation b. Create and manage an organizational system that tracks the applicants in the designation process. c. Create and manage an organizational system for the reviewers of the designation applications. d. Support in the designation application process by serving as a reviewer of the applications. e. Meet regularly with the supervisor to share information about the designation process. 3. Support the Office of Early College at DESE to manage the grant awards and review of grants. a. Organize grant applications materials for all three Early College grants. b. Write and edit guidance and communication to grantees as needed for all three Early College grants. 4. Work with contracted technical assistance providers to develop and deliver services to Early College programs. a. Provide technical assistance to Designees and potential Designees b. Arrange office hours and webinars for applicants in the designation application process. Participate in and facilitate as appropriate regular meetings of the Early College staff who work on related initiatives Perform other duties as assigned. This position has a limited (10 month) duration. TheEarly College Project Managerwill work a hybrid schedule,with an expectation of at least two days per week in the DESE offices (or more as needed) and other days remote, with other possible meetings in the Boston area or across the state as needed. Preferred qualifications: The successful candidate will demonstrate most of the following qualifications. Candidates not meeting all the qualifications are still encouraged to apply. · Familiarity with Massachusetts Early College landscape or career pathway programs. · Familiarity with K-12 and/or higher education in Massachusetts. · Working knowledge of appropriate indicators and outcomes for Early College or similar career pathway programming. · Experience working with an explicit equity-based lens. · Demonstrated skills to provide superior service to a client or customer organization, e.g. active listening, developing relationships, structuring problems and creating solutions collaboratively, etc. · Demonstrated ability to work productively and collegially with individuals and teams. · Experience working with a range of diverse stakeholders and tailoring approaches and communication to successfully meet project goals and timelines.
