Oxbow Design Build Cooperative Millwork Carpenter in Easthampton, Massachusetts

EASTHAMPTON Millwork Carpenter We are looking for Millwork Carpenter to join our team in a permanent position . The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of relevant experience. Position may require some travel and the ability to work as part of a team and independently. Our products are custom made from architectural designs and drawings. You would need to set up, operate, and tend all types of woodworking machines, such as saws, milling machines, drill presses, sanders, and wood-fastening machines. Use equipment to cut and shape wooden parts and to verify dimensions, using a template, caliper, and rule. Add fasteners and adhesives and connect the parts to form an assembled unit. You would also install hardware, such as pulls and drawer slides, and fit specialty products for glass, metal trims, electrical components, and stone. As well as sand, stain, and, if necessary, coat the wood product with a sealer or topcoats, such as a lacquer or varnish. Millwork carpenters also need to be able to install finished works on site. Strong work ethic and organization skills are a must. All the details: JOB DUTIES Read detailed architectural drawings, schematics, and shop drawings Prepare and set up machines and tooling for woodwork manufacturing Position wood pieces onto machines Operate woodworking machines, including saws and milling and sanding machines Ensure that products meet industry standards and project specifications, adjusting as necessary Select the proper cutting, milling, boring, and sanding tools for completing a job Use non-power tools to trim pieces or assemble products Maintain machines, such as by cleaning and oiling them or replacing worn blades Follow all CDC, state, and local guidance for COVID-19 best practices. QUALIFICATIONS Required Experience building millwork Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Valid driver license Bonus Experience designing millwork. Experience in 3D modeling. Experience working with general contractors, architects, and site supervisors. Knowledge of general construction site rules and procedures. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Frequent handling of materials from 5-40 lbs, unassisted Frequent handling of materials from 41 lbs +, assisted Sustained periods of maintaining the same position COMPENSATION Full-time, starting at \$22-\$28/hr, depending on experience. Pay is subject to regular review and raises.
