We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Office Assistant to join our dynamic team at the Health Department. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative, financial, and technical support to various functions within the department and assist customers with permit applications and inquiries. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and organizational skills. Attendance at least one monthly Board of Health meeting is required. The Health Department falls under the purview of the Department of Health and Environment. As a result, it is expected that the individual in this position will receive cross-training alongside the Administrative Assistant in the Conservation Department. The ideal candidate should possess: an Associate?s degree with courses in business, or related field; proven experience in administrative support roles, preferably in a government or public health setting; strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; proficiency in computer software applications, including database management and GIS mapping; knowledge of state and local regulations related to permitting, inspections, and public meetings is desirable; ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team; and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
