The East Boston Neighborhood Health Center (EBNHC) has an opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to join our organization. We have a full-time outpatient position for a Nurse Practitioner to join our expanding multi-practice group. You will have the unique opportunity to care for a diverse population. Bi-lingual Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic speaking is highly valuable for this opening, although we have an excellently trained professional Medical Interpreter Department that are part of the Practice Team. You may also have an opportunity to teach medical students through our external programs with Boston University.
Under general supervision of the Associate Medical Director of OB/GYN, this Nurse Practitioner will render diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients at the Health Center. On-call rotation for after hour urgent patient follow up, and responsible for clinical and administrative follow-up for a panel of patients.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Obtains comprehensive and problem focused health history
Performs a comprehensive and problem focused physical exam
Orders and interprets screening and diagnostic tests
Demonstrates critical thinking and diagnostic reasoning skills in clinical decision making.
Communicates with patients re: clinical findings
Initiates appropriate and timely consultations (CNM & MD)
Utilizes Epic electronic medical record
Qualifications and Requirements:
MA License as NP
