ABOUT YOU

As an Instrumentperson (Bargaining Unit Local 25), you are detail-oriented and technologically savvy, adept at operating and troubleshooting advanced surveying instruments and software like GPS, total stations, AutoCAD, and Revit. Your problem-solving skills and adaptability allow you to manage unexpected challenges and varied site conditions effectively. You are organized and responsible, capable of maintaining precise records and managing inventories. Your strong communication abilities and teamwork skills are crucial, as you coordinate with the survey team and report directly to the Survey Chief of Party. Your proactive approach to integrating new technologies will not only enhance surveying processes but also contribute significantly to the overall project objectives of the organization

What you will do:

  • Assist in transporting, setting up, and preparing survey equipment at various sites as directed by the Survey Chief of Party.

  • Operate and monitor a range of survey instruments including total stations, GPS equipment, and tide gauges to make and record precise measurements.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of survey equipment and keep all related records and files updated using software like AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Contribute to converting survey data into workable design elements, enhancing the overall output for designers and the project team.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with ability to operate machinery.

  • Effective communication skills in standard English, and proficiency in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.

  • Valid Massachusetts Class D (III) driver's license, with limitations only for corrective lenses and auto. transmission.

  • Current or anticipated certification as an NSPS instrument person, CST Level II, or equivalent Massachusetts SIT certification within one year of role assumption.
