Eliot Community Human Services Juvenile Justice Group Care Worker in Dorchester, Massachusetts

Eliot is seeking energetic, positive, service-oriented individuals to work in a variety of residential settings with young people, ages 13 – 21 years old, involved in the juvenile justice system. This position provides a great opportunity to positively impact and influence the course of a young person's life and serve as a positive role model that promotes and supports youth in areas of education, treatment and rehabilitation. In this role you will work directly with youth to help them gain knowledge and life skills that will assist the youth in becoming responsible adults while maintaining the safety and security of the program.
Daily coordination, support and guidance of youth in their daily activities that may include classroom, leisure/ sports activities, meals, and hygiene
Serve as a role model to youth and assist youth in developing coping, social and life skills.
Serve as an advocate to the youth through the implementation of his Individualized Treatment Plan.
Monitor and maintain youth and program safety and security.
Monitor and observe the behavior of youth and take appropriate action to maintain a safe environment.
Ability to execute sound problem solving and decision-making skills in emergency situations while remaining calm and professional
Skills to establish a positive, professional and therapeutic rapport with youth and staff from differing ethnic, cultural and/or socio-economic backgrounds.
Ability to interact with youth who may be in emotional stress.
Minimum Age Requirement: 21 years
Applicants must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
Possess a current and valid motor vehicle driver’s license..
Ability to meet all background check requirements

Schedule: 7 am-3 pm; Thursday & Saturday off
$500 after completion of orientation
