Overview

Pay Range : $20 per hour
20 hours per weekThe Ministry Associate will serve as support to the Corps Officer with the responsibility to assist in the overall leadership of programs, events, and activities at the Boston Kroc Corps. This ministry requires a commitment to love young people and to lead them in spiritual growth.
Education Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
Prior work/volunteering experience with Salvation Army programming preferred
Prior work experience with children in a recreational and/or educational setting
QUALIFICATIONS
Must uphold Biblical standards in personal and professional life
Must have strong communication and organizational skills
Must be responsible, accountable, respectful, positive role model
Must possess a willingness to drive a 12-Passenger van
Must be 21+ years of age
Ability to read and write effectively in English; follow written instructions, adhere to policy and procedure of The Salvation Army
Receive the public on behalf of the Salvation Army and assist by directing them to appropriate areas.
Ability to maintain the highest standard of professionalism and confidentiality during and after employment, in all matters.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required
Bilingual in Spanish or Haitian-Creole is a plus, but not a requirement

Duties and Responsibilities
Involvement in the total program with willingness to help in all areas as needed, including dining room, outdoor/indoor activities, children with problems, daily devotions, etc.
Responsible for being involved in ALL CORPS PROGRAMS, in a leadership, support or advisory capacity to foster their development.
Responsible for assisting with driving responsibilities, as necessitated by Corps Program Schedule
Responsible for assisting with basic maintenance and cleanliness of program space
Attend and contribute to all General Staff & Ministry Team Meetings.
Responsible for the supervision of assigned staff.
To assist with the oversight of all program schedule activities, special events, building security, etc.
To train or mentor youth for occupational endeavors and foster leadership whenever possible.
To assist with the organization of fundraisers assisting in funding the overall Corps Ministry.
To provide safety procedures for all participants (Plan of Action) must know evacuation plan and procedure, should have a contingency plan in case of need
To provide a suitable atmosphere throughout the Corps, that is in line with Army standards and encourages moderation in behavior, language, etc.
To bring to the attention of the Corps Officers any problems and/or needs of the Corps and must keep the Corps Officers informed about activities and prospective ministry opportunities, from the membership.
Work with the Advisory Council, Corps Council and members of the church congregation in the promotion of the Mission of The Salvation Army as directed
Assist for coordinating Special Events calendar for the Boston Kroc Corps
Responsible for assisting with Christmas Fundraising Efforts
Perform other related duties as assigned
