    About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Technician to join our team working at our Devens, MA Shelter. As a Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of our facilities and equipment. Your main goal will be to maintain a safe and efficient work environment for our employees and residents. You will work closely with other members of the facilities team to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair equipment, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. This is a critical role that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of basic hand and power tools

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions and technical manuals

  • Knowledge of plumbing and general maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with HVAC systems and controls

  • Experience with electrical systems and controls

  • Experience with building automation systems

  • Certification in a related field

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal performance

  • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions and breakdowns

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies

  • Collaborate with other members of the facilities team to identify and implement process improvements

Skills:

As a Facilities Technician, you will use your strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of basic hand and power tools to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions and breakdowns. You will also use your experience with plumbing and general maintenance to perform preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities. In addition, you will collaborate with other members of the facilities team to identify and implement process improvements. Your ability to comprehend and interpret instructions and technical manuals will be critical to your success in this role. Finally, your experience with HVAC systems and controls, electrical systems and controls, building automation systems, welding and fabrication, and certification in a related field will be highly valued.
