Job Description

Riverside Community Care, Inc. is seeking a President to work closely with the CEO and the Board of Directors with the plan to become the next CEO.

Riverside is a unique, non-profit organization of $100M and 1,700 employees based in Massachusetts. Riverside provides a wide range of behavioral healthcare, developmental and cognitive services, and human services for all ages. Locally based services reach about 40,000 people a year in eastern and central Massachusetts. National and international services reach another 4M people in 20 countries through a unique array of suicide prevention and postvention supports, as well as customized programming for corporations, school systems, government, and universities.

The successful candidate will have at least 15 years of related management experience and a proven, mission-driven approach to providing services and supporting employees. The successful candidate will understand the current landscape of our industry, as well as demonstrate an ability to execute on their vision for the future. A commitment to quality, equity, and a supportive work environment are critical.

The President’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • In collaboration with the CEO and Board of Directors, establishes strategic direction and develops formal goals and objectives at the organizational, management, and service-delivery levels.

  • Advising the CEO and Board of Directors regarding service delivery, organizational strategy, mission, and marketing efforts.

  • Developing plans for modifications in array, size, and/or composition of the organization’s services in response to opportunities or changes in funding and community needs. Supports COO in carrying out service modifications.

    Riverside has a healthy balance sheet, remarkable staff, a skilled board of directors, and a long history of innovation. There are many opportunities for continued growth.

    Extensive references will be required for final-round applicants. Knowledge of the Massachusetts behavioral healthcare system is helpful but out-of-state applicants are welcome.

    Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to make effective public presentations

  • Basic computer fluency, including Microsoft Office required

  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability in budget development and oversight, program development, personnel management and public relations required

  • Ability to comprehend, administer and write agency policies, procedures, budgets, and to assess a wide array of organizational and community needs

  • Ability to effectively perform job responsibilities in a fast paced, high stress environment requiring multi-tasking and prioritization

  • Ability to collaborate and organize effectively, understand and work with complex systems, and provide leadership and support to all levels of staff

    Required Experience

  • Master’s Degree in related field

  • At least 15 years of healthcare/human service experience with at least 10 years in a senior management role
