State of Massachusetts Temporary Sick Leave Backfill Habilitation Coordinator I in Danvers, Massachusetts

_This position is located at the Hogan Regional Center (7HC) in Danvers, Ma_ The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking candidates to temporarily backfill a Habilitation Coordinator I (HabCo I) position at Hogan Regional Center. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with intellectual and or developmental disabilities. The Habilitation Coordinator ensures the provision of quality work supports to individuals. This position affords valuable work experience to build one’s foundation for professional development and advancement. Duties and Responsibilities:(these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive) * Ensure the provision of quality work supports to individuals with cognitive, social, physical, violent and extremebehavioral needs. * Supervise and support staff assigned to each worksite and assigned to residential divisions. * Assess individuals and develop goals, training plans, and progress reports. * Teach functional life, job, academic, and social skills. * Collaborate with and carry over plans from other disciplines, such as psychology, recreation, speech, occupational, and physical therapy. * Develop activities, routines, and schedules for vocational, residential, and day programs in accordance with the ISP. * Develop vocational, pre-vocational, and volunteer activities within the facility as well as community settings. * Monitor individuals’ work monies and assume additional administrative responsibility as assigned. Required Qualifications: * Considerable knowledge of the principles, methods, procedures and practices of supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. * Working knowledge of methods and practices of teaching * Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to appropriately articulate and document case activities. * Ability to discuss individuals support needs with interdisciplinary teams and administrative staff. * Ability to plan and develop work activities for individuals. Preferred Qualifications: * 1 – 3 years of professional teaching experience. * Competency to train and instruct teaching methods and techniques using principles of human growth and development. * Knowledge and experience as an interdisciplinary team member involved in the Individual Service Plan (ISP) process. Agency Requirements: * Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. * Must possess current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
