Description
As the Director of Housing and Shelter you will represent the YWCA Central Massachusetts, its mission and vision to the general public and professional groups and individuals. Provide administrative direction for development, expansion and coordination of the Transitional Housing Program, Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter, and other housing initiatives. Provide administrative oversight to the Salem Square front desk. Oversee administrative functions of the department including supervision of staff, development and management of budget, volunteer recruitment, development of community resources and relations, marketing, case management and support of program participants. Coordinate with the Director of Domestic Violence Services for the overall development and implementation of comprehensive training and education programs, protocols, documentation and curriculums, as well as expanding Domestic Violence Programs outreach into the community and building the bridges that are necessary to ensure the YWCA mission.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Ensure all shelter programs operate in accordance with established agency philosophies and policies, including 24-hour staffing.
Provide oversight for all operations of the Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter.
Provide oversight for all operations of the Transitional Housing Program.
Provide administrative oversight of the Salem Square Front Desk.
Supervise interns/volunteers providing leadership, direction, and meaningful experiences as needed.
Recruit, supervise, train, monitor and evaluate job performance of direct reports.
Available 24-hours by cell phone.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Complete reports and statistical information as needed to include performance tracking, grant requirements donors and certifying agencies.
Submit monthly, quarterly, annual and grant reports in a timely manner.
Prepare and oversee the administration of annual operating plans and program budgets in accordance with YWCA’s strategic plan and financial plan.
Ensure staff follow an empowerment-based advocacy model with all survivors.
Provide liaison with community groups/agencies/organizations as assigned by the Chief Program Officer. Represent the YWCA by presenting at forums and other events as requested.
Other duties may be assigned by Chief Program Officer.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
Bi-lingual preferred.

Skilled at meeting deadlines, managing multiple priorities, and assuring outcomes are met.
Understand non-violent issues and demonstrate sensitivity to the issue of domestic violence.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field such as Human Services, Counseling, or Social Services preferred.
Four years minimum experience in effectively managing a team.
Four years minimum experience in the field of domestic/sexual violence, crisis intervention, or shelter setting.
Experience working with diverse populations, such as all communities of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and individuals with disabilities.
Training and experience in community collaboration, domestic violence, public speaking preferred.
