Our child care and Head Start programs provide a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for infant, toddler, preschool and school-age children. We strive to support children’s school readiness and desire to be life-long learners, with a focus around providing a stimulating early education and care experience that promotes each child’s social/emotional, physical and cognitive development.
Our child care and Head Start programs include center-based part-day & full-day options; family child care; before and after school care for school-age children; and services for pregnant women.
About This Opportunity : The Substitute is ultimately responsible for filling in for teachers when they are unavailable to report to class. Substitute teachers will supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in the cafeteria. Substitutes will also help manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment.
Varying schedules and locations: (Leominster, Clinton, Fitchburg, Gardner, Winchendon, Athol)
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Substitute must have adaptability for caring for children
The Substitute must have the ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work with other adults and with children
The Substitute must have willingness to learn new ways to work with and guide young children.
Willingness to be available on an “on call” basis
Ability to follow directions
Appreciation for various ethnic groups
Fulfillment of all specified health and safety clearance requirements (physical, Monteux, MMR)
Pass a CORI screening
