Robotics Field/ Mechanical Assembly Technician #8628 Description Cenveo is a leading North American manufacturer of envelopes with over 100 years of experience and approximately 30 billion envelopes manufactured annually. We are seeking an experienced Robotics Field Service & Mechanical Assembly Technician. Cenveo offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. In this diverse role you will become an expert in our Gen6 automation including collaborative robots, servo driven mechanisms, and material handling equipment. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, capable troubleshooter with excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude and a Can-Do attitude. Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment is essential. As an automation expert, you will be responsible for assembling, commissioning, installing, maintaining, repairing, and training of the equipment and associated products at our US facilities. This candidate must be skilled in the use of PC\'s, file management, and automation utility programs. At our Chicopee, MA location and as part of a small engineering and manufacturing team, you will learn all aspects of automation systems while assisting in the assembly and startup of new systems. Expect up to 60% travel at times for training new operators, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, equipment relocation and otherwise general system, support. Primary Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions) These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must perform with or without reasonable accommodation. Assembly and commission electro-mechanical devices for new systems. Commission PLC\'s, Servo drives, and robots via PC file transfer and Windows based automation software. Compile work instructions and other needed documentation to support systems Provide first tier remote support via telephone and PC. Provide field service inspection/ maintenance, training and repairs Perform new equipment retrofits and add-ons, on existing machine installations Provide updates and modifications to machinery at customer sites and training customers on use and maintenance of equipment Re-locate, rebuild and or retrofit existing production machinery Train internal technical personnel and machine operators on proper operation, maintenance and safety rules of our equipment, specifically on electronic controls and robotics Ability to travel, at times on short notice. Typical travel for installations, maintenance, training, repairs is 5-6 days. On rare occasions, this position travels constantly for several months in 2 week durations. Initially travel will be limited but as new systems are installed overall travel at time can be up to 60% Other duties as assigned. Requirements 0-5 years as a Field Service Engineer, assembling, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting electromechanical machinery. Proficient with PCs, file management, automation device programs such as PLC ladder, servo drive commissioning, robot programming and setup. Mechanical knowledge and aptitude; Field service experience Understanding of and experience with electromechanical systems Ability to read electrical schematics and logically troubleshoot an electromechanical installation Ability to read pneumatic schematics and logically troubleshoot pneumatic installations Experience with robotics systems, software and hardware configurations and production parameter setup is a plus. 10-15 years hands-on experience with build & commission of automation equipment. Strong oral and written skills and ability to effectively communicate with different stakeholders from production to management including ability to train customers Must have a Can-Do positive attitude
