Part time machinist Job description Chicopee machine shop currently seeking a part time machinist. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with precision tools and machinery. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality components while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. Candidate should have previous machining experience and be open to working a part time schedule. Temp-hire opportunity! Duties Operate machines to produce parts with specific tolerances. Operate various machining equipment including bandsaws, drill press, lathes, mills, and CNC machines. Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to create precise components. Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy in production. Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve manufacturing processes. Conduct quality control checks and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production. Help unload raw materials, steel and aluminum from delivery trucks, lifting up to 40lbs. Qualifications Strong basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Mechanical knowledge with experience in machining processes. Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Schedule: Part time, 4 hours a day/20 hours a week. Candidate has choice of working 8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm.
