Job Description

Conductor Assistant

The Boston College Bands Program seeks a part-time seasonal Conductor Assistant to provide instruction and support for the pre-game, halftime, and stands conductors in the “Screaming Eagles” Marching Band including all game management. Applicants should have extensive experience working with student conductors in challenging situations.

Applicants must be available for our preseason Camp during the last two weeks of August from 9 AM to 10 PM in addition to weekly rehearsals during the fall season on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 PM to 10 PM. In addition to seven home football games, applicants must be available for occasional command and travel performances including potential bowl games.

Each staff member in the Division of Student Affairs is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staff events, and serve on committees as needed.

Competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in music or music education is preferred.

  • Must be available for Band Camp.

  • Must attend all rehearsals and performances and be available for post-season bowl game travel.
