The Chelsea Soldiers\' Home is seeking an experienced individual to fill the position of Housekeeping Supervisor position for its Environmental Services Department. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES (These duties are a general summary and not all inclusive): Responsible for cleanliness, sanitary conditions, laundry/linen services and compliance with all local, state, and federal sanitary codes. Ensures compliance with regulatory standards of the Joint Commission, CMS, DPH, VA and CDC. Manage facility wide Environmental Services, Laundry, satellite laundries and related equipment. Manage and assist supervisors with scheduling of day-to-day activities, project work and emergency clean-up situations. Manage departmental PPE training program. Conducts inspections to ensure departmental compliance with all applicable codes and standards. Collaborates with Infection Control to ensure standards established by CDC are maintained. Oversees and Participate in the hiring and staffing process; and in personnel issues and disciplinary actions. Oversee relocation of all office space and related furniture and the set-up of furniture and fixtures for all agency functions. Assists with specifications for, managers and monitors all departmental contracts. Responds to all incident reports pertaining to assigned departments. Coordinates and monitors departmental performance improvement program. Participates in departmental budget process ensuring cost-effectiveness and in the selection of furnitures. Coordinates the purchase of capital equipment for assigned departments. Participates in assigned committees including Infection Control, Facilities, Performance Improvement, Department Head, General Management, Environmental Safety Team, Hazardous Materials Management and Environment of Care. Works with staff, department heads, managers, administration of the facility as requested. Must be available to respond to emergencies and work varying shifts. Performs other related duties as required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional Certification in Hazardous Materials Management SCHEDULE: This position has been deemed as an EMERGENCY PERSONNEL position. During a declared State of Emergency and in Non-Emergency situations/adverse weather, it will be necessary to report to work. HOME IN CHELSEA: The Soldiers? Home in Chelsea is a Joint Commission accredited inpatient veterans\' facility owned and operated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It is an independent State agency that organizationally reports to the Department of Veterans Services. The Soldiers\' Home addresses the needs and provides support to approximately 350 veterans 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Medical, nursing and clinical supports are given to those residents residing in the Long-Term Care Facility. The residential units support veterans who are living independently but receive services and programs ranging from psychosocial and social work, receive transitional assistance, education, work and outreach programs. The resident population is generally categorized into the following categories: Alzheimer, Long Term Care and Domiciliary.
