The Chelsea Soldiers\' Home is currently seeking an individual to take over the position of Electrician II . The selected candidate will establish priorities and makes work assignments; studies production schedules and estimates man hour and cost requirements; plans wiring and equipment installation to conform with blueprints, schematic drawings and sketches; supervises, coordinates and may participate in the installation and repair of electrical wiring systems, electrical fixtures, equipment, apparatus control equipment, except for elevator control equipment, recommends measures to effect improvements; provides on the job training, performs related work as required. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a general summary and not all inclusive.) Establishes priorities and makes work assignments; studies production schedules and estimates man hour requirements for completion of job assignments; establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules through knowledge of machine and equipment capacity; males cost estimates, requisitions supply and inspects stock and materials used. Plans wiring and installation of equipment and fixtures such as motors, generators, switches, transformers, switchboards and fuse boxes according to blueprints, schematic drawings and sketches. Supervises, coordinates and participates in the installation of wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment, with the exception of elevator control equipment. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product, suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency. Provides progressively responsible on the job training, when required, and keeps aware of the progress made by each employees? performance, for consideration in future assignments; analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems as part of the training process. Maintains time and production records and an inventory of the stock and materials on hand Required Qualifications: Valid Massachusetts Journeyman or Master Electrician License. Preferred Qualifications: Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and standard practices of the electrical trade. Considerable knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions peculiar to the electrical trade. Considerable knowledge of the state electrical codes. Skill in working with the tools and equipment of the electrical trade. Ability to detect and locate causes of electrical failure or breakdown of equipment About the Soldiers?
