Position Summary

Responsible for maintaining and improving the inventory management system used to control and value inventory necessary to support the operations of the division. This position provides analysis of operational variances resulting from manufacturing activity at the plants and provides financial support to the Chelmsford site and corporate functions.

Principal Responsibilities

• Establishes and monitors accurate standard costs.

• Provide support to operational personnel as it concerns product costs, absorption and various plant metrics.

• Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.

• Reviews direct labor and overhead absorption and produces analysis for management.

• Completes annual inventory standards updates (cost roll), coordinating with global finance functions

• Assists with calculating savings on cost improvements initiatives.

• Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products.

• Plays a key role in the site annual physical inventory.

• Realize periodic audits to cycle counts.

• Completes various weekly and monthly reporting requirements mandated by corporate.

• Maintains the fixed asset system.

• Aids in the maintenance of the Sarbanes Oxley requirements.

• Prep and Park all Month end Journal entries.

• Performs monthly GL account reconciliations as assigned.

• Assists with processing and settlement of supplier invoices.

• Maintains various plant metrics.

• Assists in the preparation of budgets for the Company’s manufacturing operations and related presentations.

• Assist the Controller as required

Education / Experience Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or with an Accounting emphasis.

• 3 - 5 years of relevant cost accounting experience.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting financial documents.

• Must have the ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner to employees at all levels of the organization.

• Possess a high level of competency with Excel.

• Experience in an QAD and SAP environment a plus.

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

• Self-starter with ability to perform with little day-to-day oversight.
