Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced (Sr.) Cognitive Software Engineer with a strong background in computer science or electrical engineering. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in advanced software development, specifically in one or more of the following areas: embedded signal processing systems, cognitive collaborative agents, symbolic processing, domain-specific language (DSL) compiler development, autonomous systems. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain software for embedded AI, signal processing systems, cognitive collaborative agents, symbolic processing, and DSL compilers. Utilize Common Lisp extensively, with a solid understanding of (a) code writing code via lambda calculus and (b) Prolog and logic programming, in order to (i) implement knowledge processing systems and (ii) to integrate them with deep neural network- and LLM-based systems both of which process real-time information collected from multimodality sensors. Develop and maintain software also using Python, JavaScript, and C; familiarity with C++ is a plus. Perform Linux system-level programming (primary) and Windows system programming (secondary). Utilize Lisp-oriented development, debugging, and testing tools. Work with Franz\'s AllegroGraph semantic graph database. Qualifications: Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics. Over 5 years of experience in software development for embedded systems, cognitive agents, symbolic processing, DSL compilers, or system-of-systems. True proficiency in Common Lisp (including advanced macro development) and at least moderate knowledge of Prolog. Strong skills in Python, JavaScript and C; knowledge of C++ is a plus. Excellent understanding of Linux system programming, and good understanding of Windows system programming. Ability to work with graph-, relational, or vector databases, as needed. Experience with Lisp-oriented development tools and Franz\'s AllegroGraph semantic graph database. Any graph database experience is acceptable. US Citizenship with an active SECRET-level (or above) security clearance. Based in the Greater Boston area or willing to relocate. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
