Inspire Brands Sr. Financial Analyst in Canton, Massachusetts

The Senior Financial Analyst supporting the Dunkin’ Advertising Fund will empower data-driven strategic decision making by budgeting/forecasting,

analyzing, reporting, and communicating financial information into actionable insights for Finance & Marketing Leadership. In this position, the Senior Analyst will perform financial modeling and analyses to track and forecast Ad Fund Spend, ensuring accurate reporting to Inspire Brands and Dunkin’ Leadership as well as Dunkin’ franchisees. This role will work cross-functionally to contribute to the overall success of the Finance and Marketing organizations and the Dunkin’ brand. The hired candidate will support various groups within the

organization including, but not limited to: Media, Brand Marketing, Integrated Marketing Communications, Field Marketing, Marketing Strategy, Loyalty &

Digital Marketing, Franchisees, various Shared Services segments, and Finance.

We are looking for someone who can work in a fast-paced environment and learn new concepts quickly. The individual will function as a key business partner for the Dunkin’ National and Local Marketing teams, Finance, and Franchisees. Inspire Brands acquired Dunkin’ in December 2020 as part of its portfolio of brands, and this role will be crucial to helping drive the future state of the Dunkin’ Ad Fund.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide cross-functional support for the annual budget and in-year financial forecasts for the Dunkin’ Advertising Fund. Challenge functional owners to think strategically about investment and prioritization of Ad Fund dollars

  • Responsible for National and Local Ad Fund financial oversight, working closely and owning relationships with all functional stakeholders across the Dunkin’ marketing, financial management, and Inspire Shared Services teams

  • Individuals must interact and maintain relationships throughout the entire Dunkin' organization as well as the Commercial Group, Shared Services, and Finance functions

  • Individuals must also be results-driven with the ability to perform successfully in ambiguous situations, or with incomplete information

  • Ability to influence processes and educate cross-functional partners on financial ramifications at all levels of operational execution is critical to the success of this role

  • Work closely with accounting to ensure complete and accurate P&L Results and possess strong knowledge of P&L and Balance Sheet relationships and management

  • Analyze, reconcile, and provide Monthly Dunkin’ Ad Fund Financial updates with variance analysis for monthly Inspire Brands Business Summaries and communicate trends, risks, and opportunities as appropriate

  • Own Capital and Depreciation planning processes for the Dunkin’ Ad Fund

  • Maintain Cash Flow Forecasting model for the Dunkin’ Ad Fund

  • Provide in-depth analytical support that helps maintain and improve store and franchisee profitability impact analysis of fixed and variable costs, and trend analysis

  • Utilize trends, spend information, business knowledge, and market insights to provide timely updates on available funding for advertising activities and identify opportunities for cost savings

  • Assist with the development of all Ad Fund-related presentations for senior leadership and external franchisee audiences

  • Function as the lead financial contact for the Regional Field Marketing team and provide regular support and analysis including Advertising Committee Meeting materials and other Ad-hoc financial support, as necessary.

  • Help to onboard new marketing team members on financial processes and best practices

  • Independently identify areas for efficiency and process improvement

  • Engage in efforts for the Future State of the Ad Fund, One Inspire Finance, Plan to Analyze (PTA) business planning sessions, and general knowledge sharing for process and procedure alignment integration efforts across Inspire Brands

  • Bring a fresh perspective to the look and feel of reporting and forecasting as Dunkin’ transitions to Inspire Brands' financial systems and chart of accounts

  • Work as part of a team to deliver best-in-class, financial reporting

  • Perform daily ad hoc analyses and other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-year degree required with a concentration in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field

  • Minimum of 4+ years of progressive finance experience and relevant work experience in Corporate Finance

  • Experience in Retail or QSR industry preferred, but not required

  • Background in Marketing Finance or Financial Planning & Analysis is a strong plus

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically with respect to Excel (e.g., Pivot tables, LOOKUP functions, Conditional Formatting, Data Validation, etc.) and PowerPoint

  • Technical Knowledge of Financial Statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)

  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as Hyperion Essbase / SmartView and Oracle

  • Cloud Business Intelligence (BI) is a strong plus

  • Ability to simplify and interpret complex data to distill key insights and provide business recommendations

  • Strong Financial Modeling and analytical skills.

  • Affinity for process improvement and inclination to challenge the status quo

  • Desire to influence processes and educate cross-functional partners on financial impact

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with capacity to build relationships and communicate with diverse individuals at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities; make decisions under pressure, prioritize important tasks, and stay organized under tight deadlines and a changing environment
