State of Massachusetts Facility Service Worker II in Canton, Massachusetts

Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to work closely with the Environmental Services Department. This individual will be responsible for performing manual tasks such as cleaning floors by sweeping, vacuuming and washing, cleaning interior/exterior surfaces such as walls, ceilings and windows, etc. They will also perform other job durties as required such as snow removal and general building maintenance. /_Schedule:_/ This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, working Monday-Friday 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM with alternating weekends. /_Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_/ * Cleans floors by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc. using appropriate supplies and equipment. * Clean interior surfaces such as walls, windows, stainless steel, porcelain, tile, etc. by dusting, polishing, and washing, using appropriate supplies and equipment. * Clean toilets, lavatories, utility room, mop closets, etc. using appropriate supplies and equipment to maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and sanitation in all areas. * Empty, clean and reline waste receptacles and transport refuse to approved storage areas. * Transport soiled linen to soiled holding area. * Clean patient beds, side tables, over bed tables, fans etc., using appropriate supplies and equipment, to maintain appearance, cleanliness, and sanitation of such items. * Sweep and wash shower. * Active Member of the Pandemic response team with responsibilities of disinfecting all areas of the facility. * Active member of the Snow Team to ensuring walkways are free and clear of snow and precipitation. * Utilizes proper PPE to ensure a safe environment for all staff, patients, and visitors. * Assist with moving office furniture, patient beds and other items. /_Required Qualifications_:/ * Considerable knowledge of all cleaning supplies and disinfectants, including wax, strippers, and pine oil * Ability to follow written and oral instructions * Willingness to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others /_Preferred Qualifications_:/ * Prior experience with snow removal * Familiarity with documentation and form completion * Knowledge of disinfecting protocol /*Agency Mission:*/ Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children (PRHC) located in Canton, MA is a Joint Commission Accredited, 90 bed pediatric hospital predominately serving children and young adults (ages 8–22) operated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The mission of PRHC is to provide medical, rehabilitative, educational, recreational, habilitative, transitional, and complementary alternative medical services to children and young adults with multiple disabilities, assisting them to achieve their optimal level of independence in all aspects of life. Educational Services are provided by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
