Amentum C-26 Transport Aircraft Mechanic - AM-2 (FAA A&P) - Camp Edwards, Cape Cod, MA. in Camp Edwards, Massachusetts

The C-26 Transport Aircraft Mechanic - AM-2 (FAA A&P) Coordinates, manages and performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-26 aircraft. Is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting and repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness. These tasks are performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components. Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun and drills.

  • Reads and interprets manufacturers’ manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method for repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

  • Comply with written Customer and company maintenance and logistics procedures and policies.

  • Comply with the FAA regulations as applicable.

  • Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams for troubleshooting of avionics.

  • Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary.

  • Perform engine run or taxi operations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

  • Performs duties as shift lead when assigned.

  • Assumes temporary duty as site lead mechanic (AM3) in the absence of the assigned site lead mechanic or site supervisor as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.

  • Valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certificate for a minimum of two (2) years and shows compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.

  • Five (5) to Thirteen (13) years of flight line and maintenance experience on C-26 (Metroliner) aircraft is required for the AM-2 position, (per Union CBA).

  • A Valid driver’s license is required.

  • Tools are Required; Must possess own tools and toolbox.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility, and to obtain a US Govt Secret Clearance.

  • May be required to work and/or rotate for a multiple shift operation.

Physical and Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain US Passport for OCONUS deployment if requested or required.

  • Ability to Deploy to overseas locations to support operations requirements if requested to meet operational necessities (based on seniority).

  • Know and understand the functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace.

  • Travel as required on a reimbursable basis.

  • Be physically able to perform aircraft mechanic duties.

  • Ability to move freely about the interior of aircraft and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.

  • Be physically able to deploy to overseas locations.

  • Stand, squat, sit, walk work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.

  • Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Able to pass physical medical examination as required.

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining professional and non-confrontational attitude.
