The Supply Chain Manager for Perioperative Services and Procedural Areas reports to the Director of Supply Chain with an operational accountability reporting to the Director of Perioperative Services and Procedural Areas. This position is responsible for expense management including capital purchases, vendor relationships, contract management, standardization and consolidation processes, inventory flow and management and utilization analysis of the OR, GI and Cath Lab supply inventory.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Provides leadership and resource to the OR and Procedural Area Leadership Team, SPD team and Supply Inventory Coordinators.

  2. Participates in development of key strategic goals, performance measures and leads operational redesign to meet goals.

  3. Collaborates with Leadership Staff on various committees to develop and implement orientation, mandatory education requirements, practice review, and process improvements.

  4. Anticipates and communicates change, encourages creativity and provides leadership for the change process.

  5. Participates in Periop Practice Committees as needed.

  6. Responsible for working with clinical and support staff to manage resources within perioperative services and procedural areas. Implements approved policies and procedures and ensures effective communication to and compliance by all staff.

  7. Prepares and maintains required reports and records that support the Inventory Management Process. Implements production schedules and supply levels to assure timeliness in availability of OR materials and case carts. Manages staff scheduling and availability through supervision and maintaining appropriate staffing levels in all parts of the operation to support a 24/7 function.

  8. Participates in developing just-in-time and procedure-based delivery systems, and product evaluation. Works closely with clinical advisors to order supplies.

  9. Tracks all Periop Service orders, works closely with the buyers on outstanding issues, returns and coordinates with other BILH Periop Services on any supply needs.

  10. Coordinates and maintains supply and inventory management activities for Perioperative Services and Procedural Areas including, but not limited to, case cart picking, par management, perioperative inventory, direct patient supply requirements, and related unit-support functions.

  11. Monitors inventories and supplies; creates par levels, coordinate routine procurement and stocking activities provided to the unit; analyze usage patterns of supplies and recommend optimal par levels. Mama

  12. Manages direct report personnel to ensure productivity and KPIs are met.

  13. Monitor the credit and debiting of credits and debits applied to Periop Services and Procedural Areas. Prepares a variety of reports, memos, correspondence and related documents as required; maintain unit files and distribute documents as appropriate as outlined. Interprets departmental policies and procedures and ensures unit compliance with established hospital, quality assurance, safety, and environmental policies for unit operations to exclude clinical care issues.

  14. Directs the development, implementation, workflow, and operations of just in time delivery systems, procedure-based delivery systems, and case pick inventory management. Promotes standardization and cost savings initiatives for supplies.

Qualifications:

  1. 3-5 years of progressive technical and supervisor experience

  2. ERP system experience (Workday preferred)

  3. Higher education (preferred)

  4. Microsoft office suite experience (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)

  5. Supply Chain experience (preferably Healthcare)

Physical Nature of the Job:

  1. 50% office duties

  2. 50% physical work (bending, standing & lifting packages of minimal weight)
