SUPERVISOR, PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE, Facilities-Repair and Maintenance (R&M), to provide leadership and supervision to the Preventive Maintenance team. Repair and Maintenance is responsible 181 buildings within the campus portfolio consisting of approximately 13.5m GSF. Will be responsible for managing and assigning the day-to-day work; acting as the point person for preventive maintenance execution on all mechanical, electrical, piping, and structural system issues; providing leadership and direction to assigned team members; managing the entire preventive maintenance process, including performing QA/QC on work performed; ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations; seeking out preventive maintenance best practices; responding to and being available for emergency situations; and providing weekend supervisory coverage on a rotating basis.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: High school diploma or its equivalent; a minimum of five years of supervisory experience in building operations; expertise in one or more of the skilled trades, facilities management, or an engineering discipline; solid background in repair and maintenance and/or facilities management in an academic setting with oversight over mechanical, electrical, and plumbing preventative maintenance; demonstrated proficiency in job planning and execution; excellent interpersonal and written and oral communications skills; and ability to maneuver in and around mechanical rooms and on rooftops. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00AM-3:00PM; but must also be available for off-hours emergencies and standby supervisory coverage on a rotating basis on weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions: Ascending/descending stairs; traversing the campus; moving about the jobsite and machinery to access equipment; remaining stationary for extended periods of time; and working from ladders, scaffolds, and other above ground locations such as roofs. Personal protective equipment must be worn as required by the specific assignment. Environment contains dust, odors, and fumes, high levels of noise and temperature extremes. Work will be performed near steam and moving machinery, in tight areas and confined spaces such as manholes and crawl spaces, and with and around chemicals and solvents. Some work performed in research labs and animal facilities and outdoors in inclement weather.
